Yamaha has unveiled the updated 2025 XSR 900, its stylish mid-size modern-classic roadster, featuring subtle yet significant changes.
The most notable update is a new five-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, replacing the older 3.5-inch unit. The engine internals have also been refined to meet the stricter Euro5+ emissions norms.
Enhancements include two customisable riding modes, supplementing the existing Sport, Street, and Rain presets. For smoother and safer downshifts, Yamaha has introduced a Back Slip Regulator, which works with the slipper clutch to minimize rear-wheel lockups.
The suspension setup has also received attention, with a fully adjustable KYB monoshock and a revised linkage at the rear.
Despite these updates, the XSR 900 retains its core mechanicals, powered by an 890cc, three-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 117.3bhp and 93Nm of torque. With a seat height of 810mm and a kerb weight of 193kg, it remains accessible and nimble. The 17-inch spin-forged wheels and Brembo braking system ensure sharp handling and reliable stopping power.
