The 2019 Zero S ZF7.2 and DS ZF7.2 entry-level motorcycles now gain an impressive 42 percent extra power. Add to that the fact that the DS is 43kg lighter than its long-range version, the power-to-weight ration seems very promising.

The Zero DSR receives a dual sport windscreen, tank grips, hand guards, and a 12-volt accessory socket for 2019 model year. The touring DSR Black Forest Edition gets integrated luggage and an assortment of adventure-oriented gear in addition to the DSR’s updates.

Zero has not focused solely on dual sport motorcycles. The American company has also launched an accessory 6kW Charge Tank which can be retrofitted in dealerships to the S, SR, and DSR models up to 2015 model year. The Charge Tank allows the bike to recharge up to six times faster than a standard wall outlet can, with the help of Level 2 charging stations. The new charging speed makes the Zero motorcycles good for up to 136km of range in an hour.

In a first for the industry, Zero has also announced a “Long Term Storage Mode”. In this mode, motorcycles automatically put themselves into a low-power mode to optimize battery charge and increase long-term battery health.
