Latest news from Ducati tell us that at this year’s World Ducati Week, which is going to be held from 20 to 22 July 2018 at Misano Adriatico, Ducati is going to announce the winner of the 2nd edition Custom Rumble, that witnessed a total of 132 entries from all across the world.
Held biennially, the Custom Rumble is a competition which allows participants to showcase their creativity and craftsmanship by customising their motorcycles. It includes four different categories – Best Dealer (reserved for all official Ducati dealers), Best Private Customizer (for all specialised custom workshops), Best Customer (for Ducati Scrambler customers) and Rookie Rumble (for under-35 enthusiasts who have customized a Scrambler Sixty2).
For the second edition Custom Rumble, participants started working on their projects from Sept last year. The online voting began at the end of October and continued until March this year. The 132 participants offered up an array of styles and original interpretations which involved Cafe Racer to Bobber; there was even an electric version (the D-EV Project) built by a Thai participant. However, over 200,000 online votes were cast, and that has resulted in the shortlisting of four unique Ducati Scramblers.
The four finalists from the four different categories are – Best Dealer: ESG Rumble 400, entered by Ducati Poland; Best Private Customizer: The Batass, built by Piotr, Poland;
Best Customer: Black Ant, built by Sumalpan, Thailand; Rookie Rumble: Aree, designed by Tanapol, Thailand.
The winner from these selected finalists will be chosen by a jury of experts which would include designers, motorcyclists and customizers. The announcement will be done at the 2018 World Ducati Week, and the winner will be awarded a trip to California for two.
