If you notice, Triumph has been a bit more active over the last few years than ever. It’s obviously a good thing for the company as well as for us, motorcycle enthusiasts. At the end of last year, we were made aware of Triumph’s new idea of custom motorcycles- Triumph Factory Custom (TFC)– which was promised to be made available soon with the Triumph Thruxton to be the first product to fall under this title. Also, we got to see a glimpse of the upcoming next-gen Triumph Rocket.
Well, Triumph kept its word and unveiled its Thruxton TFC recently. It is a gorgeous machine with some extra bells and whistles to make it that much more special. What we also got at this unveiling was the new Triumph Rocket.
What is the Triumph Thruxton TFC all about?
Consider it to be a limited edition model of the standard Thruxton. The Thruxton TFC takes customization to a next level. It comes with a carbon-fiber body including the fairing, fenders, and seat cowl. This enhances the beauty of the bike. Triumph has also made the bike much lighter than the standard variant – approx 10kg – which would improve the handling and performance.
Talking about performance, the Thruxton TFC specs get a reworked engine. It is the same 1,200cc parallel-twin powertrain but has been tweaked to produce 107 horses and 115Nm- this is an increase in 10hp and 3.25Nm from the standard engine. There is also a new exhaust system by Vance & Hines which features a titanium silencer and carbon fiber end caps. We’re pretty sure it is lighter than the stock one and would sound even better.
What else? The Thruxton TFC is available in an all-black theme. There is no other color option or shade. The only other color that you’d see here is of the Öhlins adjustable inverted forks at the front and a set of adjustable Öhlins twin shocks at the rear. The brakes are twin Brembo 310 mm floating discs at the front with Brembo 4-piston calipers and a 220-mm disc at the back with Nissin 2-piston caliper.
Triumph Rocket TFC concept
Triumph also revealed the upcoming next-gen Rocket. The Rocket already looks pretty dope and with the TFC treatment it would look and perform even better. We have already seen various spy pictures of this motorcycle but what you’re seeing here is official.
The new Rocket will have an all-new chassis, with single-sided rear swingarm, USD forks, Brembo brakes, twin-LED headlamps with LED DRLs, and most likely an updated and more powerful version of the beastly 2.3L engine.
What else?
The Triumph Thruxton TFC is going to be a limited edition model and only 750 units will be made. We are expecting this number to be not only for the European or American market but for the entire world. So, getting hands on this beautiful machine would be like winning a jackpot. The Triumph Thruxton TFC price is USD 21,500 (approx AED 78,972). We are still waiting to get details regarding the availability.
Moving to the new Triumph Rocket, there is no official spec sheet as of now. But Triumph has said that it will release more information about the new bike on May 1. So, we have to wait until then.
