As per the latest reports, Triumph has issued a recall notice for its 2019 Speed Twin motorcycle over a potential coolant leakage problem. It’s being said that a total of 726 units of the bike manufactured between 30th October 2018 and 31st January 2019 have been affected by this.
It has been found out that the routing of the coolant expansion hose in some models is improper which could cause the hose to come in contact with the exhaust header pipe. This could damage the hose and thus causing a coolant leakage in close proximity to the rear tire. Having coolant spilled on the rear tire could turn out to be pretty dangerous as it could lead to loss of traction and causing a serious crash.
This recall is currently applicable only in the States. Triumph USA will contact the owners of the affected models and notify them about the issue. They are advised to take their 2019 Speed Twin to the nearest dealer and get it inspected. The entire recall process is expected to commence sometime this month.
As of now, there’s no news suggesting any 2019 Triumph Speed Twin suffering from the aforementioned problem here in the Middle East.
