Italian EV manufacturer Tacita will be unveiling T-Cruise, a modern electric cruiser, targeted specifically to the American market.
EV maker Tacita has announced a new model under their lineup of exciting electric motorcycles. The Turin, Italy based firm builds electric Supermoto, Enduro, Motocross and Rally motorcycles, and a rather tasteful Flat Tracker, called the T-Race Diabolika. Tacita makes their own chassis and motors in-house. The company first came into the limelight after fielding their electric T-Race Rally model in the Afriquia Merzouga rally, part of the Dakar series.
Tacita will now release their first road model, the T-Cruise at the 2017 AIM Expo in Columbus, Ohio. Designed with the American consumer market in mind, the T-Cruise will use the modified chassis from the off-road bikes and also feature a clutch and transmission drivetrain.
The T-Cruise was developed by a joint team of Italian and American designers. In Tacita’s own words, the T-Cruise is the motorcycle of choice for the “motorcycle enthusiast who loves to ride a cruiser and enjoys the thrill of acceleration, the emotions of gear shifting, and the electrifying sound that only a Tacita electric motorcycle can deliver.”
Tacita has not revealed many details of the T-Cruise yet, but it will most probably be powered by a three phase induction motor, fed by a 27 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack, good for almost 270 km on a full charge.
Styling wise, the T-Cruise looks like a traditional long, low cruiser, as is expected of such motorcycles. It gets swept front fender, a blingy chrome extended handlebar and conventional round headlamp, taillamp and turn indicators.
Tacita is yet another entrant in the burgeoning market for electric vehicles. Their bikes are proof that electric motorcycles can be so much better than garden-variety commuters. The successful T-Race series of motorcycles stand testimony to the fact. The T-Cruise emulates and builds upon Tacita’s motto and formula of motorcycles to present itself as a well-rounded, road-ready electric cruiser. We await eagerly the unveiling of the Tacita T-Cruise on from 21st to 24th September at the AIM Expo, Columbus, Ohio.
