Black is an evergreen color. I mean not always ‘green’, but always black. You get the drift, right? Problem picking up a color for your new bike? In a dilemma whether to go for single or dual tone color schemes? Don’t be. Choose black. It makes thing sportier, subtle, dark, and mean. And, of course, more attractive. Triumph understands that. That’s why it has got black editions of a number of its popular bikes – Bonneville T120, Bonneville Bobber, and Bonneville T100. Soon, Thruxton R would join the gang too.

A spy picture of Thruxton R black edition has been shot and shared by MCN. The test mule has clear signs that it has gone the black treatment. Parts which are usually in shining chrome and aluminium are treated in satin black for the aforementioned reasons.

Things to expect in the Thruxton R black edition

The Thruxton R would get satin black coatings on the wheel rims, engine covers and cylinders. The chrome on the Showa Big Piston Forks would be replaced by a gold finish. The brake calipers would also be blacked out. The test mule also had a higher-spec LED unit from the Thruxton TFC with matching clear-lensed LED indicators.

Triumph Thruxton R black edition price

Considering the fact that Triumph has included new LED headlamp and indicators, and all the other blacked out ‘premium parts’, we are expecting the Thruxton R black edition to carry a slightly hefty price tag than its normal counterpart.

As of now, there are no exact details about the price or the availability of this meaner Thruxton R, but looking at the spy shot it seems that Triumph has done most of the testing. Therefore, it could launch the bike sooner than expected.
