Latest spy shots of the new Ducati Panigale 959 being tested have surfaced. The red colour test mule had various testing equipment mounted on it and also had a bit of camouflage in the mid of its fairing.

The new Panigale 959 looks quite familiar but Ducati has made some noticeable changes. The nose of the bike has been given some rounded edges and the shape of the air curtains have been changed as well.

One of the biggest changes in the new bike would be the replacement of the double-sided swingarm with a single-sided unit. It not only makes the bike look pretty cool but also enhances the overall performance.

Earlier, rumours suggested that the Italian bike maker might discard the L-twin engine for the newer V4 unit. However, that’s not the case. Ducati will continue to use the same 90-degree V-twin engine in the new Panigale. It will also make some internal changes to extract more power, somewhere in the 160-170hp range.

We are expecting to see the new Panigale 959 at the Intermot or EICMA later this year.
