MV Agusta is back with an exclusive collaborated-creation. This time with Pirelli. The mean looking 798-cc bike, christened as the MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR Pirelli, sports special equipment by Pirelli along with new and aggressive cosmetics.
The bike is built on the MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR, with additional Pirelli equipment to make it an exclusive. The Pirelli Design team which led the cosmetic changes on the bike has provided with significant results.
Starting with the most evident changes to the bike, the new limited edition Dragster carries a new colour scheme with a black and yellow as well as a white and blue combination. Apart from that, the bike gets a tank slider and the fairing that is made of rubber specially formulated by Pirelli’s Research and Development department to ensure superior resistance to scratches and rubbing to which these items are subjected to. The rubber elements are easily recognizable with the iconic ‘flash’ symbol.
Adding to its exclusivity, the seat on the bike is created by the Castiglioni Research Center with a double texture with contrasting stitching and an embroidered ‘flash symbol’. The exhaust silencer terminals come with a ceramic-based paint coating which is tolerant to high temperatures.
Mechanically the bike is retained with a recently updated tri-cylinder engine producing 140hp of power at 13,100 rpm and 86 Nm of torque at 10,100 rpm. With a claimed top speed of 245kph, the bike carries a dry weight of 168kg. Safety features on the bike include a two-channel ABS and Rear Wheel Lift-up Mitigation (RLM).
The company has not yet announced the number of models that will be manufactured under the new name. Reports suggest that the price tag might see an extra premium of close to $3000 over the standard Dragster 800 RR model.
