Maverick Vinales showed his great form and connection with his M1 on day 2 of the 2019 Sepang test earlier this month. He does the same on the final night of the final pre-season test in Qatar. He scored the fastest lap time of 1m 54.208s.
Despite less than desirable riding conditions, Maverick Vinales let his consistency shine again. He didn’t let the strong wind get to him and was focused as ever on getting the job done. He successfully worked on acceleration and set a stunning lap time.
Even The Doctor had a good time on the last night. He laid a final hand to the setting of his YZR-M1 and showed he is on the right track when he improved his fastest time to a 1m 54.651s, set on lap 35/38. Rossi’s best lap time gave him the 4th place.
The 2nd position was occupied by Fabio on his M1. He was followed by the reigning world champion Marc Marquez who had to deal with his shoulder injury. The two Desmosedici who shone brightly in the Sepang test didn’t get what they were hoping for. Petrucci was at the 9th place with a lap time of 1m 54.818s whereas Dovizioso could only secure the 16th position. Alex Rins and Joan Mir, both on Suzuki GSX-RR, were at 11th and 12th position respectively.
Now, with the final pre-season test over, we are desperately waiting for the 2019 MotoGP season to begin. The first race is scheduled to be held on the evening of 10th March.
