Miguel Oliveira had been signed by KTM only for the 2019 MotoGP season. However, after witnessing some impressive performance by the Portuguese racer in the opening three rounds of his MotoGP career, KTM has decided to extend his contract till the end of 2020.
Oliveira scored some points in two out of three rounds of the 2019 MotoGP season so far. He even secured 11th place in one round, which is his personal best. He is in the satellite Tech3 team and things will continue to be the same at least till the end of 2020.
While Oliveira must be happy with his contract being redeemed for another year, things don’t look very positive for his Tech3 teammate Hafizh Syahrin who supposedly has a one-year deal with Tech3 rather than KTM. Syahrin is struggling at this point in his career.
The next round of 2019 MotoGP season is scheduled for this weekend at Jerez. We wish all the best to all the riders and hope to see an exciting and fair race.
