MV Agusta’s race division ‘Reparto Corse’ picked up an F3 800 and went brain-storming. Those minds were looking for ways to make the bike faster as if the standard one wasn’t fast enough. The result of all this is a mean-looking black machine with around 160 horsepower – the MV Agusta F3XX.

The first thing to notice about this track-only bike is its colour. It’s black. And that’s not because of a paint job but use of carbon fibre, a lot of it. How do you think MV managed to shed off 28kg? Also, the cool exhaust of the standard F3 800 has been replaced by a custom 3-in-1 SC Project unit that suits the bike perfectly. All this made the F3XX weigh just 145kg (no fuel, with liquids).

Powering the F3XX is the same 3-cylinder engine that we’ve seen in the F3 800. However, considering all the weight-shedding, remapped ECU, titanium valves, and much more, this engine now produces around 160 horses. So, in short, the F3XX is much more aggressive and faster than the standard F3 800.

Another track-focussed interesting feature of this black panther is the new AiM MXS1.2 dashboard that replaces the LCD instrument console. It is a highly sophisticated system capable of telling you your lap times, the performance of the suspension, throttle, braking, and whatnot.

It’s quite obvious that the new MV Agusta F3XX is going to be an expensive affair. Everything that makes it a better track machine than the F3 800 comes at a price. And since ‘Reparto Corse’ had spent its valuable time into it and the fact that it’s hand-built, it is going to be a limited edition model. How many would ever be produced? We don’t know that right now.
