It was just last month when a few spy shots of the upcoming Ducati Streetfighter V4 surfaced on the Internet and we reported about it, too. We got pretty excited after seeing the spy images and couldn’t wait to have this naked beast in front of us.
After that, Ducati confirmed that it is going to race the Streetfighter V4 at this year’s Pikes Peak and released a short teaser clip. This made us even more anxious and desperate for the bike. Now, Ducati CEO, Claudio Domenicali, has confirmed the arrival of the Streetfighter V4 in 2020!
In the latest press release, Ducati has mentioned that it’s preparing for the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb which will start on June 30th. As part of the development process of the new model, the “Race to the Clouds” has been identified as an ideal proving ground for testing the high performance of the Streetfighter V4. Carlin Dunne, who won the 2018 edition of the race, will be riding the prototype.
Speaking about the Pikes Peak and Streetfighter, Domenicali said, “The Streetfighter V4 will be one of the stars of the Ducati World Premiere 2020. Streetfighter V4 is the Panigale for road riding; so there was no better stage than the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb for what will be the highest performance Streetfighter ever put into production.”
The prototype will race with a “pixelated” livery, designed by the Centro Stile Ducati; unlike the normal practice with prototypes, the livery does not hide the lines but exalts them by deliberately revealing how the bike will finally look.
The nearest day when we’ll be able to see the Streetfighter V4 in flesh will be at this year’s EICMA in November. We can’t wait!
