With the huge success of the Panigale V4, Ducati is perhaps implementing as many features and parts of this motorcycle into its other bikes. We would soon get the upcoming Streetfighter V4 and there are rumours about a Multistrada V4 as well. Now, it’s the 2020 Panigale 959 that’s in the talks.
As per our colleagues at Morebikes, Ducati is secretly testing the 2020 Panigale 959 that is heavily inspired by the Panigale V4. To back this up, there are a few spy shots of the test mule wearing heavy camouflage over the entire front and side fairing. We do get to see the V4-like LED DRLs at the front.
What else new is the single-sided swingarm. It isn’t particularly new for the Panigale series but for the 959 it will be. It’s also being said that the test bike here has borrowed the brakes, front forks, subframe, and seat from the mighty V4-R.
The current-gen Panigale 959 is powered by a 955cc engine that produces 150hp and 102Nm of torque. The updated 2020 model is expected to have an increase in both these numbers; perhaps somewhere around 170hp for the power or maybe even more?
We can also spot a huge box wrapped at the tail of the test bike which is nothing but some testing equipment. This means that the bike still has a long way to go. But with the looks of the V4 and updated equipment, engine, and electronics, the 2020 Panigale 959 definitely sounds interesting. The only factor considering perhaps would be the price.
