To break the monotony of making cruisers for umpteen years, Indian Motorcycle launched the fabulous FTR1200 in 2018. It was this bike that pushed the envelope for the company and showcased the brand’s capabilities. The FTR1200 is the only one of its kind in Indian’s catalog, however, that could change in the coming future as the company is planning to bring two new models based on the FTR1200.
Indian has a special connection with the Flat Track racing. Its FTR750 machine has destroyed the competition and won many championships for the company. The FTR1200 is based on this bike. It’s super agile, nimble, fast, fun, and handsome. We would definitely like to see it in two new avatars.
As per the latest reports, the FTR1200 lineup would get a streetfighter and an adventure touring model. Both of them would be powered by the same 1,203cc V-twin engine that powers the current FTR and has 120 horses and 112.5 Nm. It’s also being said that the streetfighter model could be named as the FTR1200 Sport whereas the adventure variant would carry the nametag of FTR1200 Rally.
There’s no official confirmation regarding the launch of these upcoming bikes but it’s been speculated that the streetfighter model could see the light of the day sometime next year whereas the adventure tourer would be put on hold until 2021.
