A catastrophic fire at Jerez last month that gulped the Energica MotoE bikes and much more, left the concerned authorities with no other choice than canceling the first race of the inaugural 2019 MotoE World Championship. It was said that a revised calendar will be revealed after the matter is discussed in detail. And recently, the new calendar has been announced.

The first race of the 2019 MotoE season will be held in July at Sachsenring, Germany. This was earlier supposed to be the third race. Round 2 is scheduled for August in Austria. It will be followed by a two-race weekend at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, San Marino, and Riviera di Rimini in September. And the last two races will take place in November at Circuit Ricardo Tormo, Comunitat Valenciana. So, the total number of races will continue to be 6.

We were eagerly waiting for the 2019 MotoE season to kick off. However, due to the unfortunate fire, things took an unexpected turn. Investigation of the incident is still in progress.

The revised calendar is in a way a sigh of relief for many. First, it made sure that there are going to be 6 races in all. Second, the extended period of time for the first race would help Energica to build all the MotoE bikes.
