Bike Nation Magazine received information that earlier today, Harley Davidson launched the brand new addition to their lineup.

A tuned ‘High Output X 750 engine’ the XG750A – called the STREET ROD – A performance city street bike that is derived from the Street platform but produces more torque through the mid-range and revs higher.

17 inch front and rear wheels are claimed to produce faster, responsive steering and an all new chassis geometry set-up will most probably help with the handing too.

New piggy-back shocks, USD forks with a tighter rake and a new lean-angle – from what used to be 28.5° to 37.3° on the right side and 40.2° degrees on the left – complete the sportier package.

With the Harley-Davidson Street 750 becoming one of the most popular bikes within the H-D range, there’s a lot to be said for a more street (and dare-we-say ‘youth’) orientated machine coming out of Milwaukee, the HQ of H-D.

Is this the Harley for the notoriously hard-to-attract millennial demographic? It just might be…

In their Release, Harley Davidson says:

  • The Street Rod’s new High Output Revolution X 750 V-twin engine puts out more peak power and torque with an extended rev range
  • New chassis geometry and 17in front and rear wheels deliver fast, responsive steering
  • 43mm USD forks are matched by remote reservoir rear shocks
  • Dual 300mm front discs plus ABS braking as standard
  • Three paint options show off the Street Rod’s Dark Custom™ style to the maximum

Color Options:

The Street Rod will be offered in three colour options:

Vivid Black

Mathew Weber, Harley-Davidson chief engineer Says:

“The Street Rod’s new High Output Revolution X 750 has got hot cams, gas-flowed heads, more compression and a higher redline. It gets your attention.

And we wanted a chassis to match, sharp handling and aggressive, perfect for urban cut-and-thrust and canyon carving. Its attitude and the relationship between seat position, rear-set foot pegs and wide handlebars put the rider fully in control.

The fact the Street Rod looks so good – and very close to our early sketches – gives us all a real charge too!”

Our thoughts

We say; this bike is another lovely yet aggressive street bike, designed for the city and articulated to fit the streets and urban lifestyle. It keeps all the Harley Davidson trend, looks, lines and soul in it. Yet, has the any necessary feature to make you hump on it, ride and chill all over your city, then back home happy and satisfied.
