We didn’t see this coming! BMW has just unveiled two brand-new motorcycles at EICMA 2019 – F900R and F900XR. While the former is a roadster, the latter is a more affordable adventure-sport-tourer.
The F900R has a brand-new design with a beefier front. It features a full LED headlamp that has a horizontal LED DRL in the middle. Looks pretty cool, eh? The bike has an upright riding stance for easier riding both in cities and out on highways.
On the other hand, we have the F900XR that looks very similar to its elder sibling, the S1000XR. However, it isn’t as dedicated towards adventure riding like the GS rather more towards sports touring. And to do that easily, BMW has provided an adjustable windshield, large aerodynamic fairing, large fuel tank, long suspension travel, etc.
Powering these two motorcycles is a new 893cc, parallel-twin engine that churns out 105 bhp. Also, both the bikes get electronics like Dynamic and Dynamic Pro riding modes are available along with riding aids like Dynamic Traction Control DTC, banking capable ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) and the new engine drag torque control (MSR). They also get a 6.5-inch TFT screen and adaptive cornering light.
