It was early this year when we saw the first spy shots of the Ducati Streetfighter V4 and it was then when we knew that the silence before the storm has started. After months of peek-a-boo, Ducati finally unveiled its Streetfighter V4 and V4S at the Ducati World Premiere 2020!
Of course, the Streetfighter V4 was the start of the show. Just like you and I, many others were impatiently waiting for this naked monster to be officially revealed. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the Streetfighter V4 is the naked and angrier version of the Panigale V4.
Panigale V4 itself is such a fast motorcycle that Ducati simply took its powerful engine and slammed in the Streetfighter V4. It’s a 1,103cc, V4 Desmosedici Stradale V4 with 208 horsepower at its disposal. However, Ducati did tune the engine to suit the Streetfighter V4’s character and nature. So, now we have 10% more torque available on the rear wheel than the Panigale V4. And if that wouldn’t suffice your needs, Ducati is also providing a race-spec Akrapovic exhaust which increases power to 220 bhp!
We have to say that the new Streetfighter V4 is one of the best-looking newly launched naked bikes we’ve seen in a really long time! It’s simply ‘WOW’ from each and every angle. The LED DRL placed above the headlamp looks like an eyebrow of a very angry animal. There’s no windshield/windscreen/fly screen, not even a tiny one. That’s how purely naked this Streetfighter V4 is.
All that bodywork and the mighty V4 engine weigh 178 kg, which is nothing for a bike that has a power figure of upwards 200 bhp. So to keep the bike stable at high speeds, Ducati has provided two sets of winglets which produces almost 28 kg of downforce at around 268 km/h. And of course, it also gets all sorts of electronic wizardry.
