It was at the EICMA 2018 when the new Ducati Diavel 1260 first saw the light of the day. And it didn’t take long to lure in the people present at the event. Since then, the Diavel 1260 has been one of the most anticipated bikes of the year. Now Ducati has announced that the production of the Diavel 1260 has commenced at its Bologna factory.

The first Diavel 1260 rolled off the production line on Monday, 21st Jan 2019. Following the tradition at Ducati, the first model was greeted by the entire factory with a toast and an official speech by CEO Claudio Domenicali and Production Manager Silvano Fini.

Ever since its inception, the Diavel has got innumerable people, enthusiasts or not, hooked with its unique styling and incredible performance. However, as time progressed it was quite inevitable that Ducati had to get back to the drawing board to make some changes so that the Diavel lives up to the modern expectations of people and to stand up to its rivals. And that’s what the Italians did.

The new Ducati Diavel 1260 is the second generation of this motorcycle. It is more aggressive in terms of design and style. We really dig the LED DRL which has kind of a signature of the Diavel and helps in spotting the bike from a distance. Powering the new Diavel 1260 is the Testastretta DVT 1262 engine which produces 159hp and 129Nm. The acceleration on this thing is breath-taking and the power delivery is smooth in the low revs which makes it a breeze to ride around the city and even in traffic.

Ducati has also upgraded the chassis of the new Diavel 1260. No wonder why this heavy animal leans into corners with ease and changes direction without any hiccups. And while doing so you’re at peace as it comes with Bosch cornering ABS and other electronics which have got your back at all times.

The Diavel 1260 is also available as a sportier S version featuring first-rate Öhlins suspension, dedicated wheels, an even higher-performing braking system, and Ducati Quick Shift up & down Evo as standard.

The first batch of the bike will start reaching the dealerships in Europe by mid-Feb. Let’s see when do we get it here in the Middle East. The new Diavel 1260 is available in Sandstone Grey whereas its sportier sibling gets Sandstone Grey or Thrilling Black and Dark Stealth.
