The first-ever Dakar in the Middle East will take place from 5th Jan to 17th Jan next year. It was great news for Dakar-lovers in the region that one of the world’s most difficult rallies will be happening there. For all the interested participants, the registration for Dakar 2020 is now open.

There will be 5 categories in the rally – bike, quad, car, SSV, and truck. All of the participants will need to cover a total distance of over 9000km. The rally will begin in Jeddah and end at Al-Qiddiya.
Dakar 2020 will have 12 stages. The route will cover a lot of sandy terrains and also WRC-style tracks and mountainous terrain. Speaking about the rally, David Castera, Rally Director, said, “For a born explorer like the Dakar, a fascinating and exciting third chapter opens. In the most extensive [largest] country of the region, the possibilities of tracing a demanding, balanced and varied route are practically endless.”
