Yamaha recently announced its all-new and intimidating Tenere 700. It must’ve caused a bit of stir in the middleweight adventure-tourer segment. Yamaha has been testing the Tenere 700 for quite some time now under the name T7 Concept. The bike is going to be available for purchase online from 27 March 2019 and it has a price of Euro 9,299 (AED 38,745 under current exchange rate).
The thing to note here is that this online sale system will be active only for Europe. The sale will close on 31 July 2019. Customers who will buy the Tenere 700 online will be among the first ones to receive the bike. Yamaha will dispatch the first batch of the Tenere 700 to these customers first and then the dealerships in Europe will start to get the bike by Sept 2019.

Powering the Tenere 700 is a 689cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 72.4 horses and 68 Nm of torque. These figures are good enough to make this 205 kg adventure motorcycle one hell of a machine. Another thing that would be fun is the absence of electronics. Apart from switchable ABS, the Tenere 700 doesn’t get any electronic aids – riding modes, traction control, etc. all have been given a pass here. At the front is a 21-inch wheel while at the rear is an 18-inch one. They are spoke-wheels and should work well in off-road situations. The set of knobbier tires would come in handy as well.
We really like the way Yamaha has designed the Tenere 700. It is very unique and intimidating. It has a distinctive headlamp setup that is inspired by Yamaha’s factory rally bikes. Its instrument console is a vertical unit and must have a plethora of information to share. However, it isn’t colored.
If you’re in Europe then you are lucky to get a chance to buy the Tenere 700 first. We wonder when would Yamaha bring it here in the Middle East because with its structure and capabilities it would be at home here in the deserts.
