The first round of 2018 MotoGP was won by Dovizioso by a fraction of a second as Marquez, the reigning world champion was right on his tail. However, not every Ducati rider had a great time, as Lorenzo crashed during lap 12th.

According to the Spanish rider, the reason behind him crashing out at the turn 4 of lap 12th, was because of brake issues. He had to let his bike go. He said he was lucky enough to escape without any serious injuries.

All this while, Brembo was analysing the fault behind Lorenzo’s crash, and now there’s an official statement from them. It says, “Regarding what happened to Ducati Team rider Jorge Lorenzo during the Grand Prix of Qatar, Brembo is very disappointed that the rider’s retirement on the 12th lap of the race was caused by a problem related to the braking system. After careful analysis by our technicians, we confirm that the problem has been identified and resolved so that such an anomaly cannot occur again.”

Brembo didn’t reveal the possible cause of the incident and just said that it’s been rectified and wouldn’t happen in future again. It would have been better if they could have told about what actually caused the problem in the first place.

Anyway, the second round of the 2018 MotoGP is scheduled for 8th April, in Argentina. We really hope that Lorenzo gets to have a fair play this time. Dovi is currently leading the MotoGP standings.
