Aleix Espargaro, the lead rider in Aprilia said that Aprilia must now give all its strength and make their bikes faster to be competitive or better quit MotoGP. Also, on the other hand, KTM which recently joined the MotoGP is only trending at 11 points lower than Aprilia which has been in the game for quite some time now. The season started strong for the Italian brand as Espargaro matched Noale-based firm’s best MotoGP finish and finishing it at sixth. However, things did not look well after that and it has been the downtrend for them. There was an engine problem which cost them at the race and multiple other issues.
The expectation that Aprillia raised during the winter is not being met with their performance and this puts Aprilia under the heat for bring themselves back to the game or just call it off. Meanwhile, Aprilia is now set to unleash and sport a new aerodynamic fairing this weekend at Misano. They had tested the new fairing two weeks ago and said that the results were very positive and they hope that this would make a significant difference in the upcoming races and the factory team says that they are confident and optimistic.
The aerodynamic update that Aprillia has done adheres to the rules of MotoGP. They will be testing the new fairing with a full tank of fuel as that is the area where they are currently having a hard time performing. Aleix Espargaro is also eager to set a better record in the upcoming race and say that this is a special occasion for Aprilia as they aim to prove themselves with their upgrades and tweaks. Hopefully, Misano would be a good race for Aprilia which will push them forward a few notches to ensure that they stay competitive in this tough race.
