It was only last week when we reported about the massive Ducati recall that involved the V4 models, Monster, and Supersport. Now there is yet another recall that has been issued by Ducati which will affect the V4 models, again.
As per the reports, the NHTSA has not released an official document yet, but it has been confirmed that Ducati has issued a recall notice for 2018-19 Panigale V4 models that include the V4, V4 S, and the V4 SP. This recall is regarding the probability of the timing chain tensioner getting loosened up.
If the timing chain tensioner loosens, it can cause an oil leak through the adjustment bolt. The oil might find its way to the rear wheel. And that’s something that no one would like to have. Its consequences could be disastrous.
To rectify this problem the dealers will need to only tighten the tensioners to the required spec. And that’s it. However, the owners of the 1,502 affected units have to take their bikes to the dealerships.
While the recall hopefully remains restricted to the USA, the fact that it is happening worries me a bit. Ducati is a reputable brand and getting its name highlighted because of a recall that too numerous times in a short span of time isn’t that great. What do you guys think about these recalls? Should you be worried here in the Middle East? Do let us know. And we would also like to know what Ducati UAE has to say about this.
