We were waiting for the October 7th because last month Triumph released a teaser of its 2020 Street Triple RS and fixed this date for its unveiling. And so it was indeed revealed and now we have with us the new three-pot, angry, mean, and nerve-wracking naked Triumph.
The new Street Triple is all about aggressiveness. It gets more power and slightly revised aesthetics to show everyone who’s the boss in the segment. Triumph says that the 2020 Street Triple RS is the lightest motorcycle in its category weighing in at just 166 kg (dry).
When it comes to aesthetics, one of the biggest changes that Triumph has done is with the new LED DRLs. These simple white LED strips give the bike a very aggressive, angrier, and mean look. They are like its frowning eyebrows.
Propelling the new RS is the same 765cc, inline 3 but in a slightly different state of tune. Triumph has tweaked some of the internal components which not only made the bike lighter but also enhanced its performance. We have a 9% boost in performance. The 2020 Street Triple RS produces 121 hp and 79 Nm. Triumph also added a second catalyst in the new muffler to keep the emissions in check. If you’re wondering, yes, the new RS is Euro 5 compliant.
Another great addition in the 2020 RS has to be the MyTriumph app. So the TFT instrument panel now supports Bluetooth connectivity and you also have this new app. Together they provide some very useful information like navigation instructions, call and music management, and the best part, you can also easily set up your GoPro!
Undoubtedly, the new 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS is an improvement over its previous model. Apart from these new features, it continues to possess all the previous finger-licking equipment as well, like top-spec Brembo brakes, Showa and Ohlins suspension systems, enhanced electronics package, riding modes, etc.
