Portuguese Enduro motorcycle maker AJP has announced the arrival of its rally-spec off-road-only AJP PR7 bike in early 2018. All AJP models have also undergone minor changes for 2018 model year.

AJP will only be launching the PR7 Rally 600, which is a 600cc competition Enduro motorcycle. The PR7 is not street-legal as of yet. AJP claim that a street-legal version of PR7 will come along in 2019 at the earliest.

The AJP PR7 is powered by a single cylinder, fuel injected, 600cc thumper engine mated to a six-speed transmission. Power is rated at 60 hp, and the PR7 has a tank capacity of 17 liters. AJP is confident that the PR7 can fly across a desert at over 160 kph. a DOMA full system race exhaust, carbon fiber air intake, and a race-spec ECU are standard.

AJP has used a new generation frame upon which the PR7 is built. Front and rear suspension are top-notch, procured from specialists Sachs. The PR7 is loaded with precision machined components like billet triple clamps, billet footpegs, and billet bar mounts. To make stand-up riding easier, the fuel tank has been placed under the seat. This also helps lower the center of gravity. The rally-style front fairing houses dual stacked headlamps and removable ASUS tablet computer, and a tall windscreen. The ASUS tablet is completely weatherproof.

AJP bikes hitting US dealers from 2018 will have new Shorai batteries and nearly two kilos of weight loss. Additionally, all bikes will be shipped with a first fill of Spectro engine oil. This will ensure the protection of every engine component right from the first ride.

The PR7 600 Rally is being pitched to professional racers looking to compete in Baja or similar hard enduro races. Only a limited number of PR7s will be available for purchase.
