Ever since Lorenzo joined Ducati, he has been struggling to find the perfect tuning with his race bike. While the new GP18 is an improved version of its predecessor, the Spaniard still finds it weaker in certain areas (and better than the GP17 in some areas). Hence, Ducati utilizes the opportunity of a private test in Mugello.

Lorenzo has previously stated that he has been having some issues with the GP18 in mid-corners. This might be due to the current aero fairing. So, Ducati put up a new chassis and a slightly modified aero fairing on Lorenzo’s GP18. No times were revealed at the end of the private test session.

While Lorenzo has had problems with the GP18, his teammate, Andrea Dovizioso, and even Parmac’s Danilo Petrucci find the new bike to be a better version of the previous model.

Well, we hope that something good must have come out from the private test session. It was not only Ducati which was present for the test, Repsol Honda, Movistar Yamaha, Suzuki, and Aprilia, were also there to have their share of the track.

The next race in the 2018 MotoGP calendar is scheduled to take place next weekend in France.
