The 2017 EICMA Show is just around the corner and various automobile manufacturers are getting ready with their new products and concepts. KTM is also all set and will be showcasing the 790 Adventure along with its vehicles.
The prototype or test mule of the KTM 790 Adventure was first spotted back in 2016. It was anticipated that the bike would hit the showrooms by 2019. It’s believed to be powered by an 800cc, parallel-twin engine that’s equipped in the 790 Duke as well. No specific details regarding its figures have been known yet but expect around a 100bhp.
The new 790 Adventure will be competing against the Triumph Tiger 800, Honda Africa Twin, and such. KTM will make sure that its new motorcycle is equipped with all the bells and whistles to stand neck-to-neck with its rivals. It is expected to get features like an LCD instrument console, full LED headlights, large fuel tanks, etc. To enhance the off-road capabilities of the 790 Adventure, KTM has provided it with a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel. Both of them wrapped with off-road tyres.
The suspension at the front would be WP USD units and the rear would be a mono-shock one. Both of them are expected to have a long travel to take in big undulations on a variety of surfaces. In terms of electronic aids, the new 790 Adventure would be having ABS as standard, at least 3-level riding modes and traction control system.
Reports suggest that KTM has planned to launch its 790 Duke before the 790 Adventure. Well, we can’t wait to check out both of these motorcycles in flesh at the 2017 EICMA Show.
