Yamaha TMAX is one of the most popular high-performance scooters in the world. It was launched way back in 2001, and ever since it has become the favourite of many a people in the markets it is available. Now, catering to the needs of the younger generation customers and with the changing taste of the people, Yamaha has announced a new sportier variant of the TMAX and it is called the TMAX SX Sport.
The new Yamaha TMAX SX Sport is added as a new product in the company’s list of products. However, it isn’t a completely new one. But whatever additions that Yamaha has done to it look quite mouth-watering. The biggest and most attractive addition is the new specifically-built Akrapovic exhaust. It is certainly going to pull in many new younger customers. Combine this pipe with the powerful 530cc, parallel-twin engine and its music to the ears. Other additions include a new ‘sporty’ wind-deflector and a fender eliminator kit.
Yamaha hasn’t released any notes regarding engine specifications of the TMAX SX Sport. It is expected to come with the same unit which has been taking care of the duties on the 2017 model. Like we mentioned above, it’s a 530cc, parallel-twin engine that has been tuned in a state to produce a max power of 45 hp and comes mated to a V-Belt Automatic CVT transmission. The new SX Sport will continue all the high-end features that we’ve seen in the previous model.
Yamaha has sold more than quarter-million units of its TMAX ever since its launch. This has been spread over last 18 years and 6 generations of the vehicle. And now with its latest avatar, Yamaha is giving tough competition to its rivals like the BMW C650 and C400X, Suzuki Burgman 400 and 650, etc.
