Triumph launched their new Tiger Sport 1050 model in southern France today and has taken select journalists for a scenic 250km first ride. The new Tiger Sport was first showcased at the Carole Nash MCN London Bike show earlier this year.
The Tiger Sport 1050 uses a similar engine as the 1050 Speed Triple currently on sale. Triumph claims that this engine has been heavily revised compared to the previous version though. The company claims there are precisely 104 changes that result in a noticeable increase in power and torque. There is also a claimed increase in fuel economy by 8 percent and this engine adheres to new Euro 4 emissions.
Standard equipment includes ABS, ride-by-wire throttle, selectable rider modes and switchable traction control. This motorcycle comes with an all new clutch that is 48 percent lighter and a whole new exhaust system.
Based on feedback, triumph as now fitted an adjustable screen which was a drawback of the previous generation Tiger Sport.
Prices in the UK are expected to be around 10,500 pounds (AED 55,000). Local pricing and availability will be announced soon. Triumph also offers a healthy accessories catalog for those who want to personalise their Tiger Sport 1050.
