This is my second trip with Beaux Adventures in less than a year. I was so impressed with the service and the fact that they are the only company in India providing Triumph Tiger 800s for rent; I had to plan a second trip to the Himalayas, this time with some friends from Dubai.

My previous trip was in September 2015 and that was a solo ride across 2400kms of Himalayan roads. The motorcycle I had rented came with panniers and I had a waterproof tail bag with me so all my luggage was comfortably secure on the Tiger 800.

This year, due to the size of the group and the experience of some of the riders, we kept the total distance at a 1000kms and we also had a support vehicle following us that carried our entire luggage, so it was just we on the motorcycles with some basic luggage.

We started off in Chandigarh and then rode up to Shimla and then to Nubra valley via Spiti valley and Leh, over Khardung La, the highest motorable road in the world at 18,300ft.

The ride was spread across seven days so there was not more than 200kms of riding on any given day except one where we had to cover around 280kms in one day. We preferred riding during the day and didn’t want to risk riding after sunset.

We had perfect weather throughout the trip with no show and rain to dampen the spirit. This allowed us to maintain good average speeds and let us have enough stops for shooting photos, videos and some local chai.

Our tour was more of a self guided tour but Beaux Adventures did support us with two additional team members who were riding with us, taking care of all food, accommodation and fuel stops on the way and we also had a mechanic follow us in case of a breakdown. The arrangement worked perfect for us since we didn’t have to worry about these things and focused on enjoying the ride.

The scenery in this part of the world is absolutely breath taking and with motorcycles like these, a lot of your comfort is taken care of with less fatigue and more good riding. I have done this kind of a trip on a Royal Enfield and other local motorcycles more than a dozen times but riding a Tiger 800 is a whole different experience.

The affordability of the service and rental offered by Beaux Adventures is the something that will surprise you. They are equal to if not cheaper than renting Royal Enfield motorcycles for such an adventure. I came across them by co0incidence and since then me and a lot of my friends have approached Beaux Adventures and everyone has come back impressed.

Please do not mistake this for an advertisement; this is just I expressing my enthusiasm and eagerness at the fact that you can now rent Triumph Tiger 800s in India for a trip like this. I’ve been longing for this for over a decade and now that I’m back from another great trip, I’m planning my next trip to the north east of India and I certainly know where to look if I need to rent big capacity touring motorcycles in India.

Hey Amir! This is an awesome article and something I’d love to do with a close friend of mine!

Question – this year when did you end up going? I ask simply because I’d love to get similar perfect weather. Is mid-July too late?

Please do let me know. I’d love to book with beauxadventures too. Also would love to chat with you personally about the ride and get some tips!
