Everyone in the motorcycling world knew this was coming, but no one had seen it in flesh, up until now. Royal Enfield’s new 750cc parallel-twin engine has now been spotted in the open in Spain, where it is being tested on a Royal Enfield Continental GT chassis.

The version seen in the photos here is running carbs but there is no question that it will feature fuel injection down the line for the international market. Indian emission norms aren’t that stringent yet and carbs can do the job.

Power is estimated to be around the 50hp mark and torque will be between 60-70Nm. The overall design of the final production version motorcycle may vary but it’s needless to say, it will still have that retro look. Whether it will be a Classic 500 look or a Continental GT look is yet to be seen.

It is needless to say that this new Royal Enfield 750cc parallel-twin version will be treated to much fanfare as any other Royal Enfield motorcycle that hits the market. Expect it to be on sale by mid 2018.

I’ve been considering the continental gt, but it seemed a tab underpowered. This would definitely get me to pull the trigger but 2018 is a long way away.

    • I’ve been hearing of a twin cylinder Enfield for a decade now. Hope this one doesn’t disappoint.

I am more interested in the pricing.
