It has been revealed recently that Yamaha and Valentino Rossi have extended their contract for two more years. Rossi will be racing for the blue team until at least 2020. That’s good news. Another news that has been revealed on the same day was the new 2018 AGV helmet design that Rossi will be wearing during the 2018 MotoGP season.
We’ve seen Rossi wearing some very unusual, funky and clever designed helmets in the past. The nine-time world champion is known to wear such quirky helmets. However, his latest 2018 AGV helmet isn’t too funky. It represents a retro design which is reminiscent of classic Formula One designs.
Speaking about the new helmet design Rossi said, “It’s changed a lot because I wanted to try something classic. I looked at the iconic Formula One helmets of the seventies and eighties and tried to have less on there rather than more – and I like the result!”
The 2018 MotoGP season is only a couple of days away from the start. The first night race is scheduled to take place in Qatar on 18 March. We’re extremely excited and will be covering the entire season. So stay tuned for that.
