Kawasaki unveiled its new Ninja 400 at the Tokyo Motor Show which was held earlier this year. Alongside that, we were also blown away by the rebirth of the new Ninja 250. However, it was quite evident from the beginning that the new Ninja 400 will be replacing the older 300 model. And now it’s become official.
Kawasaki USA is going to replace the old Ninja 300 with the brand-new Ninja 400. And the best part is that there is no price hike for the non-ABS model! The new Ninja 400 will carry the price tag of $4,999. Awesome! However, the ABS model of the new 400 will, obviously, cost more, somewhere in the range of $5299 to $5,499.
The Ninja 300 didn’t receive any major upgrades for so many years and it was quite upsetting for the Kawasaki fans. Kawasaki did take a long time but we think after looking at the new Ninja 400, it’s worth it.
Powering the new Ninja is a revised parallel-twin engine that produces 44.8bhp of max power at 10,000 rpm and 38Nm of peak torque. It is lighter and more powerful than that of the Ninja 300. In fact, the new 400 is 8 kg lighter than the 300. And it certainly looks enchanting! Kawasaki has borrowed a few style elements from the mighty Ninja H2 and implemented those in the new 400. Boy, oh boy! Like we said, an update worth all the waiting.
