Earlier this month KTM unveiled its all-new and much anticipated Duke 790 at the 2017 EICMA show in Milan. The bike received many ‘wows’ when the covers were pulled off. I am a huge fan of KTM motorcycles and ever since I watched the video of the Duke 790 concept, I really wanted to own it. If you’re a bike enthusiast you know which video I’m talking about, and if you aren’t, then watch it below.
So, now the Duke 790 or the Scalpel as KTM calls it, is official, how much do you need to pay to get one? KTM has announced its price for the UK market, it’s 8,499 pounds. It’s a very good price tag and you’re getting a whole lot for it – a 799cc, parallel-twin engine, 105 untamed horses, 85.9 Nm of torque, cornering ABS, lean-angle-sensitive traction control, a bi-directional quick-shifter, riding modes, anti-wheelie function, a TFT dash, all of these as standard.
Apart from having an image of producing some of the world’s finest motorcycles, KTM has also an image of providing such products at a justifiable price. And the new Duke 790 is no exception. It is based on the new design language which can be seen on all new Duke models, and boy does it look good.
