Effective from 1 October 2018, Ducati Motor Holding has bid farewell to Andrea Buzzoni who had been working as Global Sales and Marketing Director. Two new divisions have also been set up at the Italian performance motorcycle maker’s Board of Management.
The two new management divisions are structured to replace the position held by Buoni so far: Global Sales and After Sales, and Marketing and Community. Francesco Milicia will take up the reigns of the Sales department as well as Marketing and Community for now. Claudio Domenicali is the Interim Director for now.
The two new management positions are meant to replace the single position held by Andrea Buzzoni. As Sales and Marketing Director, Buzzoni was instrumental in achieving the sales record of Ducati in the three years between 2015 and 2017. This was made possible through the implementation of the global strategy of qualitative and quantitative growth of sales and optimizing the marketing processes in the mid and long-term.
Buzzoni also coordinated the launch and proliferation of the Scrambler brand, which has been a runaway success for Ducati. The high-end supersport segment has also seen great response under his patronage. Borgo Panigale wishes to thank Andrea Buzzoni who will stay within the Volkswagen Group for his immense contribution over the past four years.
Francesco Milicia has a degree in mechanical engineering and started his career with Ducati in 1999 in the Operations division. He moved to China in 2005 with the Ariston Group first as Managing Director of Thermowatt, followed by Managing Director of Elco Italia from 2009. In 2012, he returned to Ducati as the Managing Director of Ducati motor Thailand. Returning to Italy in 2015, Milicia worked as the Supply Chain Director (Purchasing and Logistics) for Ducati, joining the company’s Board of Management.
Federico Sabbioni will take command of the position vacated by Milicia, becoming a member of the Board of Management himself. He joined Ducati in 2002 after his graduation in mechanical engineering and built his professional experience within the company in the Product Development division, first in research and development as project engineer, followed by project management. Sabbioni then became Head of Vehicle Project Management for some of the most strategic product families within the Ducati range- Multistrada, Scrambler, and Hypermotard.
Th eBoard of Management at Ducati Motor Holding now stands as follows: Claudio Domenicali (President), Silvano Fini (Plant Director), Andrea Forni (Research and Development), Francesco Milicia (Global Sales and After Sales), Federico Sabbioni (Supply Chain), Oliver Stein (Finance, Controlling and IT), and Luigi Torlai (Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility).
