Remember the teaser videos (1,2) that Honda released last month? Both of them were about its new NSC (Neo Sports Cafe) Project, which we were restless about. The elements teased in the videos kept us wanting more of the motorcycle and now, we have it in open and it’s the new Honda CB1000R!
Powering the new Honda is a known four-cylinder engine which produces 143hp of max power and around 104Nm of peak torque. It is the same engine which has been employed in the new Honda CBR1000RR but, of course, has been tuned down to suit the character of the new bike.
Just like any other modern motorcycle, the new 2018 Honda CB1000R also comes with a host of electronic features like ride-by-wire throttle, three selectable throttle maps, traction control with different levels, ABS, etc. The suspension on this new machine is a Showa Separate Function Big Piston forks (SFF-BP), and a Showa rear shock, both of them are fully adjustable.
Honda has said that there is also a higher-end variant of the new CB1000R which is called as the CB1000R+. It is expected to be blessed with top-end features like a quick-shifter, heated grips, etc. Honda has not stated an official launch date for both the CB1000R and the CB1000R+ as of now, but we’re expecting to have one pretty soon.
