Lombardy, Italy based FB Mondial recently announced a new motorcycle soon to hit the streets, further detailing the firm’s future plans.
Italian FB Mondial has had a rather tumultuous history, with the 20th century seeing the firm go through lots of upheavals, beginning with dominating races throughout Europe for the better half of the 1950s, only to end in bankruptcy in 2004. In 2014, the brand was revived and soon put a new motorcycle into production. The successful 2015 HPS125 was soon followed by the HPS200. In 2016, the firm also launched the SMT125 Supermoto and SMX125 Enduro.
At the 2017 EICMA, FB Mondial announced the addition of another HPS (Hipster) model to the lineup: the HPS300. Built by Piaggio in China, the HPS300 is essentially a Piaggio 300 engine with Mondial’s chassis and styling. There isn’t much information about the HPS300 to be had, but the engine specs are out. The 300cc single cylinder engine is good for a claimed 25 hp and 22 Nm, and the Hipster 300 looks a lot like its younger derivatives.
FB Mondial also had another rather handsome concept on display at the Milan show. The bike was called Sport Classic Concept and wore a very attractive blue-and-orange livery. beneath the paint scheme, the bodywork was cohesive and tasteful. The Sport Classic looked purposeful without getting too loud. FB says the concept will enter production after the HPS300, and will get a choice of two engines: The 125 and the 300. Production is slated to begin sometime next year.
Furthermore, FB Mondial has announced the reveal of five more models! The single cylinder engine range will expand to accommodate the Scrambler 125 and 300, Streetfighter 125 and 300, and Cafe Racer 400 and 650. Two new twin-cylinder motorcycles, the Streetfighter and Supersport 600, will sit at the top of the Mondial range.
With so much happening at the FB Mondial HQ, it seems that the firm has made an amazing comeback, rapidly adding motorcycles to their fleet and expanding operations at the same time. We await the time when these concepts see the light of day and we get to swing a leg over them!
