After Aprilia, it’s Ducati which has announced a recall for a few of its models. These bikes have been affected by the Brembo brake mishap which Brembo has recently revealed.

The issue is mainly about the failure of the front brakes due to a faulty piston which could develop cracks under heavy braking or intervention of ABS or even when the bike falls.

According to Ducati, nearly 8,000 units would go through the recall process. This number includes six models belonging to a period of four years. They include 2015-2018 models of 1299 Panigale (including the Superleggera and Final Edition), Panigale R, Monster 1200, Multistrada 1200/1260, XDiavel S, and Scrambler 800 Café Racer (2017-2018).

Ducati will contact and notify the owners of the affected models. The faulty piston will be replaced by the Ducati dealerships without any cost. The entire recall process is expected to commence from 15 Feb 2018.
