BMW Motorrad showcased its concept scooter, the C 400X, at the 2017 EICMA. From then until now, no news emerged about the two-wheeler. However, now reports suggest that BMW has filed a patent for the production-ready model of the C 400X, and chances are that it could be launched by the end of 2018.
We are expecting BMW to name the final product something else than the C 400X, as it’s only a concept name. BMW might also make certain changes to the production-ready model. However, we really liked the asymmetric design of the concept. But you know how things are, a concept is a concept for many reasons, and usually, companies do skim on many features on the final product.
Anyway, it is being anticipated that BMW would give the C 400X a 350cc, single cylinder, engine that would produce around 34 bhp of max power at 7,500 rpm and generate 35 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. BMW claims that this little guy here would reach a top speed of 140 kph. It will get a CVT unit. Other mechanical features of the scooter include telescopic suspension at the front, dual springs at the rear, a 15-inch front wheel with a dual disc set up, 14-inch rear wheel with single disc, ABS, etc.
BMW will give some basic standard features like a LED headlamp, stability control, centre stand, etc on the new C 400X. It is being said that BMW might offer more optional features such as TFT display, heated seats, anti-theft alarm, etc. Let’s see what does the final package look like, and how much would it cost.
